Ghouls N Ghosts - Sega Genesis and SuperGrafx screen shots
<- Back
Gens v 2.11 and Magic Engine 1.0 were used for all shots. Unless otherwise noted,
Gens interpolation and Magic Engine's bilinear filter was employed for each
shot to better simulate the blur of the actual TV output (which creates the
illusion of more colors in both games).
Both versions have a single foreground layer and a single background layer,
while the SuperGrafx game has more animation in scenes where background objects
are animating such as the blowing trees in level one, or the water towards the
end of level 2. The Genesis game's music and sound effects are much closer to
the arcade game's, the SuperGrafx game manages to sound fine for the most part,
while it occasionally sounds a bit like you'd expect the NES or Master System
to sound, but it simply doesn't have the stereo sequencing that the Genesis
sound provided.
