Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition for PC-Engine and Special Champion Edition
for Genesis Screens
The PC-Engine version appears to be a port of the Genesis version, with more
clear voice samples and apparently all of the same animations and a bit more
color on screen. It also has only one static background, and runs at 256x224,
which is lower resolution than the Genesis version's 324x224 and the same as
the SNES game.
The Genesis version has at least two independantly scrolling backgrounds per
level, appears to be a port of the SNES version, but has the lowest color counts
of the three and has more parallax backgrounds than either the SNES or the PC-Engine
version. This version also has the most grainy voice samples of any Genesis
game due to Capcom porting several of the digital instruments of the SNES version
into the music. This made the Genesis' sound chip play multiple digital sound
channels at once, which it was never designed to do, and which seems to have
contributed to the excess grainyness of the voice samples in particular, even
compared to other Genesis games.
