Virtua Fighter Remix was a free gift from Sega of America in September of 1995,
the same month the Playstation launched. Virtua Fighter Remix was mailed to
every Saturn owner who was registered with SOA, and as a free inclusion in multiple
game magazines. This revision of VF1 features texture mapped characters instead
of the flat shaded characters of the arcade and original or 32X versions of
VF1.
Virtua Fighter Remix runs at the same inconsistant 15-30 frames per second that
the original Virtua Fighter runs at on Saturn. The resolution appears to be
640x480, judging from the almost non-existant aliasing, but no resources were
available to support this claim. Also, while Virtua Fighter Remix still has
realistic shadows, it does not have light sourced characters as VF 1 and VF
32X have.
