Virtua Fighter 1 was a Saturn launch game in May of 1995. It runs at an inconsistent 30fps, jumping down to below 15fps at random points, and, judging from other launch games and the aliasing, something around 320x240 resolution.

The sounds and music of Virtua Fighter are great, as would be expected from a CD-ROM game, and the load times are adequately brief, between 4-6 seconds for each new level and no loading once the level has loaded.

The polygon counts of Virtua Fighter are significantly lower than the Arcade original, and there is a lot of flickering in the characters and pop-in of the ring itself. You can see shots of the ring pop-up in the 2nd shot of Jeffry's stage, 2nd shot of Wolf's stage, 3rd shot in Lau's stage, 3rd shot of Akira's stage, and in many other shots.

Since the Saturn could display quite a bit more polygons per second flat shaded than this game displays, it's obvious that the port was rushed for launch. Simply looking at VF Remix or VF2, which came out mere months later proves that Virtua Fighter's limitations had nothing to do with the hardware, and everything to do with the time spent on the game.
